The Naish Park offers freeride simplicity. It is for riders who are looking for simple, no-fuss performance. The Park is a performance-focused kite, condensed into an easy, simple package. The Park’s three-strut design is stable and responsive. This configuration, combined with a powerful profile and full outline gives the Park the consistent pull of a “C” type kite and the power control of a swept kite. The swept leading-edge positions the wingtips behind the center of the kite, which gives the kite easy relaunch capabilities and maximizes depower. The “do everything” nature of the Park opens up a huge range of performance options for the rider. It is the perfect tool whether you are focusing on sticking that handle-pass rotation, bashing the lip or maximizing your freeride time out on the water.

Naish park

I'v tested the naish park 12m today

conditions: wind between 15 and 21 knots, +1m60 waves, side on wind

right out the bag this kite already looks great, looks very strong like all naish kites.

once in the air i knew i giong to have a super session!
the kite reacts direct on every steering impulse i gave and a could always feel perfectly where the kite was. It turned very fast for such a big kite !

going upwind in those difficult sideon conditions with big waves was a piece of cake with this kite! I was amazed after my first jump that the kite had so much hangtime, i realy didn't expect that in this kite... it pulls you really gentle of the water and you don't have to be a pro to get the popping timing right on this kite, flying high and oldskool was a childsgame with this kite...

then i used the kite where it was made for, i unhooked (i trimed the ki a lil bit cause i was a bit overpowered)... it stays really stable once you unhook! this is THE perfect kite to start learning unhooked tricks cause it doest pull you out of your socks when you unhook.

did some waves to, the kite did what i want it to do and was always just one small jerk away when i needed some extra power !

overall conclusion:

I really want to buy this kite ! one of the best kites naish ever made.

btw for the 3 strut haters: the kite is perfectly stable with 3 stuts !

Park Review

This kite rocks, by far the closest feeling a the naish torch but with better benefits. Has got excellent turning. Water relaunch is easy as.
I Rode the 10m yesterday in choppy Shearwater, Gold Coast Broadwater. Whilst other kites would be jumping around the sky, the park was just a great consistent pull, much like the torch but when you stuffed a trick up the kite had great depower.

With the direct back line attachment and a very simply 1 pulley bridle on the front, this kite feels great. So no crappy big bridle system and pulleys to deal with.

It had a great low end but also excellent top end too.

XX Angie

8m Naish Park

After the last 2 weekends of great wind in SE Queensland I got the opportunity to demo the 2011 8m Naish Park on two separate days in two different wind conditions. I will leave the aesthetics of the kite to someone else to review, I will talk about how the kite flies.

My first fly was on a down winder in 15 -22 knots. I set the leading edge bridle adjustment to the ‘power’ setting as I thought 15 knots may have been too light. The adjustment is only around 1 inch on either side and in my opinion changes the kite dramatically. Having enough wind for wave riding in 15 knots I was impressed by the way the kite flew backwards and with the turning speed. The kite turned very fast around its wingtip and developed consistent power through the loops. I am led to believe the Bolt is the more specific kite for directional surf riding however for my style of wave riding, I preferred the Park as the kite still turned quickly and positively when in the de-power zones of the wind window. I had set the rear lines of the kite in the middle setting. The bar pressure was medium for me and I always knew where the kite was in the window. I felt the kite sat square in the middle of the power zone most times and would drift backwards well when at the edge of the window. I unfortunately got the kite swamped by a wave at one point and it filled with water in the canopy. The kite eventually made its way to the edge of the window without much driving on my part and promptly stood on its wingtip ready to fly when I was.

My second ride was in gusty 20-30 knot wind conditions. I set the leading edge bridle to the ‘de-power’ setting and I was not doing a down winder. I immediately felt the kite wanted to fly more at the edge of the wind window. In the loops, the kite had more of an arching turn and was slower. With the wind at 25-30 knots this bridle setting came into its own as I was not over powered considering I was riding a strapless surfboard. It still flew backwards just as well when on a wave.

I still enjoy my 2010 10.5m Helix for Freestyle riding but I would recommend you demo the park if you need a good crossover kite for wave riding. Thanks to Jason from Briskites for the demo!

Cheers.
